Softball generates many activities for all ages in New Germany.

New Germany provides fun times
New Germany doesn’t disappoint when it comes to offering diverse activities for all to enjoy.

Lindstrom Park opens in the spring and offers horseshoes, volleyball and softball fields. Men and women’s modified softball games are encouraged.

The New Germany Fire Department Relief Association hosts its annual softball tournament in the summer. Fire departments from all over Carver County participate in the tournament. Usually, 16 teams compete in the tournament.

Since 2003, the New Germany Craft Show takes place in September and continues to attract new customers and vendors each year. The New Germany Commercial Club uses profits from the craft show to fund a variety of youth programs and local parks.

The commercial club also will be hosting its 29th annual all-you-can-eat fish fry Sunday, Oct. 21, 2007. The club then teams up with the fire department to sponsor the annual Halloween party in city hall Wednesday, Oct. 31, with games and treats for children.

The Christmas season is full of special events in New Germany. The traditional Christmas worship service will be at St. Mark Lutheran Church. Children from St. Mark Lutheran School are involved in the special service.

Santa Claus comes to the Ranch House Saturday, Dec. 1, 2007, for the annual holiday party. Children have the opportunity to tell Santa in person what they want for Christmas, have their photograph taken with him, and enjoy holiday treats.
